The Kansai EPC signed business alliance MoU with Solyu

Today, The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. ("The Kansai EPC") has signed a MoU with aircraft leasing company Solyu Company, Ltd. ("Solyu") regarding charging facilities for Advanced Air Mobility ("AAM") aircraft.

In collaboration, the Kansai EPC and Solyu will study the requirements of AAM aircraft and charging facilities to support the worldwide growth of the AAM industry.

From 2022 onwards, the Kansai EPC is developing and installing charging facilities in partnership with OEMs such as SkyDrive (JP) and Vertical Aerospace (UK).

We will continue to promote the social implementation of AAM in cooperation with worldwide stakeholders (OEMs, vertiport developers, operators, regulatory authorities, etc.).

[Features of The Kansai EPC's AAM business]

  1. Development of charging facilities and battery cooling systems with versatile specifications and design adapted to AAM aircraft from multiple OEMs.

  2. Full package support for vertiport charging infrastructure (power receiving and transforming facilities, charging facilities, battery cooling systems and carbon-neutral solutions, etc.), from study to implementation, maintenance, and management.

  3. Connects to an energy management system and charges the battery using renewable energy as a power source, enabling the operation of carbon-neutral AAM aircraft.
